Range Rover Engines: Drive with confidence

Range Rover Engines: Drive with confidence

The Range Rover is a four wheel drive sport utility vehicle (SUV) with extensive off road capabilities, produced by the famous British car manufacturers, Land Rover. The Range Rover was launched in 1970, and created a new space in the automotive world. It has been listed among the top 10 British cars of all time by several magazines and experts. The very first car was designed by Spen King to bridge the gap between traditional cars and modern cars. It is now in its fourth generation. The different models include: Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Diesel, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Vogue, Range Rover TDV6, Range Rover TDV8 and many more.

How it all begun

Range Rover
It took several years for Range Rover to become very popular car. The first generation models served as the base for specialized utility vehicles. These included the Carmichaels International six-wheel Fire Tender, a two-door model car with an extended chassis and a third axle added. It was designed for small airfield use, having a water pump mounted on the front bumper, driven by the V8’s crankshaft. After 25 years from the introduction of the first generation Range Rover, the second generation model P38A was introduced in the year 1995, with an updated version of the Rover V8 engines. It had a 2.5 litre BMW six-cylinder turbo-diesel with a BOSCH injection pump. This was the first Diesel injection with electronic controls in a Land Rover. It was the first model to feature Satellite Navigation as an option. In 2002, the third-generation model was introduced, where manual transmission was dropped entirely, leaving only the automatic. The 7 Series electronics system was being phased out during the development of the third-generation Range Rover and being replaced with electronics from the BMW E395 Series. The fourth generation Range Rover, L405 was exhibited in September at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. Then came the Range Rover Hybrid which is a diesel-powered hybrid electric model unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Highlights:

Range Rover Car

  • At first, in 1966 its name was given as, “10-inch station wagon”.
  • It won the first ever Paris-Dakar rally in 1979, which it again won in 1981.
  • It also competed in the East African Safari throughout the 1980s.
  • It was displayed in the famous Louvre Museum in Paris, as an example of “exemplary industrial design”.

Having been in the automotive industry for some time, we (MKL Motors) have had a great deal of experience with Range Rover models. One of the reasons behind Range Rover’s glorious history and performance is its engine, which are powerful, responsive and durable. What keeps it ahead of its German competitors is its mega off-road ability and huge towing power.

The engine choices are two diesel engines, a supercharged petrol and a hybrid engine. The entry level 256 bhp 3.0 litre V6 diesel model in TDV6 has the ability to deliver 254 bhp at 4000 RPM and 600 NM from just 2000 RPM and can go from 0 to 62 mph in 7.9 seconds up to a top speed of 130 mph, while the Supercharged V8 petrol model are good enough to challenge some sports cars as well.

We all know that engines don’t last forever, even if it’s that of the Range Rover. We offer our clients both used and reconditioned replacement engines at cost effective prices, and also offer our clients fitting services.

Winter Tires- A Necessity for Driving During Winter Season

As winter is approaching, drivers in London are advised to switch from all-season tires to winter tires, if they want to glide their car smoothly over ice-packed roads.

Winter tires are specially designed to maneuver snow and ice from the road to provide smooth riding during the season. Basically, they are made from rubber compounds that do not allow snow or mud to stick in the grooves. In this manner, they ensure safety of the drivers while driving.

It goes without saying that the driving safely in the winter can only be determined by maintaining traction in cold conditions. These tires are made with rubber compounds that ensure flexibility during freezing temperature. They come with threads that are designed to make driving safe during winters.

Along with this, here are some tips to keep winter tires in good working condition throughout the season.

  • Keep the air pressure of the tires in check in order to avoid unnecessary wear on them. The tires cannot hold their shape if they are under-inflated. This could be a potential reason for decreased traction, increased tread wear and reduced control in slushy conditions.

  • It is recommended to get a set of four tires installed in your car to ensure improved traction and flexibility on wet and snow-covered roads.

  • It is also recommended to replace the winter tires as spring approaches.

MKL Motors – Making Motoring Simple

The Range Rover is a luxury 4 wheel drive automobile that has significant off road capabilities made by the British vehicle manufacturer Land Rover. It has long been the benchmark of the luxury SUV. It even rivals luxury limousines for the upmarket style, refinement and grace. Its exquisite interior, regal image, powerful engines and unrivalled off-road ability make it the perfect vehicle for those who want a luxury car that does it all.

The Range Rover was first introduced in 1970 as a luxury alternative to the agricultural Land Rover, and it wasn’t until 1997 when Mercedes launched the M-Class as a rival. The Range Rover comes in both standard (SWB) and long wheelbases (LWB), although the LWB is only available on higher spec cars. The Range Rover is JLR’s flagship vehicle, and it offers the most luxury equipment possible. Land Rover has continued to ensure that the Range Rover can keep up with its German rivals in terms of refinement and luxury, but what really sets it apart from them is its huge off-road ability and its mega towing power. The Range Rover is also impressively quiet and refined inside no matter which engine you choose.

Here at MKL Motors, we always aim to offer our clients a high quality

replacement Range Rover Engine

. Although a second hand engine is certainly a viable replacement, we feel that a reconditioned engine is the best option due to the level of work that goes into them, and their competitive price tag.

So what exactly is a

reconditioned Range Rover engine

? Well, in simple terms a reconditioned Range Rover engine is a unit that has been stripped down, assessed for wear and tear and then rebuilt with brand new components. By going through this procedure we are essentially provide our customers with an engine which is ‘like new’. Range Rover vehicles however, require specialist rebuilders due to their large powerful engines which makes the reconditioning process a lot more complicated. Over the years we have a developed a great deal of experience in engine reconditioning and with a highly skilled team of engineers at our disposal we’ve become extremely proficient at rebuilding Range Rover engines.

As well as offering our clients replacement Range Rover engines, we are also aware of the growing demand for full supply and fitting packages. This option is typically a real bonus for many of our clients as car garages will often refuse to fit Range Rover engines due to the sheer size and complexity of their engines. As a result we now offer vehicle recovery, engine reconditioning and full fitting as an entire package.
